Ellen's colored pencil drawings from the "Echoes of the Dance" series are influenced by the Hollywood musicals and Broadway theater of the 1940's and '50's. Though the colors are vivid and intense to express joy and passion, the work contains elements of the fragility and temporal nature of life.
